District 4 Back-to-School Health Fair

Councilman Philip A. Cortez, CentroMed and the San Antonio Food Bank will host the annual District 4 Back-to-School Health Fair and school supply giveaway on Saturday, August 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the CentroMed (Southwest Branch) Clinic, located at 9011 Poteet-Jourdanton (Highway 16).

This free event provides parents and children an opportunity to learn more about community health through free immunizations, dental exams, health screenings, and haircuts. Over 60 San Antonio vendors and community organizations will be present to discuss community services and provide preventive health information. The fair will also include giveaways and feature live entertainment by Tejano music band Texas Latino.

"I am proud to say that the District 4 Back-to-School Health Fair is a great way for San Antonio school children and their families to learn about maintaining a healthy lifestyle as the city gears up for the start of the new school year," said Councilman Cortez said.

Last year, over 2,000 students received free backpacks and school supplies at the fair. This year's health fair is expected to be even bigger.
