Councilman Reed Williams to host District 8
Townhall meeting CPS Energy staff will provide a presentation on the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Program. AMI consists of digital meters and a two-way communications network between CPS Energy and the customer. This program is the foundation for Smart Grid which delivers energy from utilities to customers using digital technology to save energy, reduce costs and increase reliability. Because CPS customers will be able to manage their own energy usage, this will create opportunities for savings. Representatives from the City's Solid Waste Management Department will also be on hand to explain the changes that will soon be in place for the brush and bulky collections program. The City is making these changes effective February 2011 in order to reduce waste, keep neighborhoods clean and increase recycling. Under the new brush and bulky collection schedule, brush will only be collected twice per year and bulky waste will be collected one time per year on a separate schedule. |
