- SAWS headquarters to be used as alternate site after RSVPs top 1,200 -

SA 2020 logoWith RSVPs nearly doubling the 650-person capacity of the TriPoint YMCA, Mayor Julián Castro and organizers of the SA 2020 visioning effort announced the opening of a second location to accommodate the expected crowd at Saturday's kickoff.

In addition to the TriPoint facility at 3233 N. St. Mary's St., the public is also invited to the nearby San Antonio Water System headquarters just east of U.S. 281. The utility also will provide overflow parking which can be accessed from N. St. Mary's Street just north of the intersection with Mulberry Street.

Shuttle buses will be available to take the public back and forth from the two locations. Registration begins at TriPoint at 8:00 a.m., with the program running from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Once capacity is reached at TriPoint, registration will begin at SAWS.

It is important to note that seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, so the public is encouraged to arrive early on Saturday

"In light of the tremendous interest, we are making every effort to allow San Antonians to give voice to their vision of what our city should look like in 10 years," said Mayor Castro. "But even if you can't attend in person, please take advantage of the live webcast on the SA 2020 website to ensure that your voice is heard."

Saturday's event, which is the start of a six-month community-wide process, will be webcast live by nowcastsa.org and SA2020.org. The public can also fill out a community survey at any time on the SA 2020 website at www.SA2020.org.
