Council District 10 Scholarship program deadline approaching

The District 10 College Scholarship Program, created by Councilman John G. Clamp, is a college scholarship program offered to high school seniors who live in City Council District 10. This scholarship program is intended to recognize and award high school seniors who have actively pursued community service while maintaining academic success. Students who wish to apply for the District 10 scholarship will be required to submit a scholarship package and meet eligibility requirements. Scholarship packages are due by March 31.

The District 10 College Scholarship Program is open to all District 10 high school seniors planning to attend a two-year or four-year college beginning in 2011.  Ten students will be selected to receive an Apple MacBook laptop computer, software and accessories valued up to $1,500.

"Education is the cornerstone of our society. We must impress upon the youth of our city the importance of higher education and its role in helping achieve the American dream," said Councilman Clamp.

Students who wish to apply for the District 10 scholarship will be required to submit a scholarship package and meet eligibility requirements. Scholarship packages are due by March 31.
