District 2 Mayfest was a huge success

San Antonio City Councilwoman Ivy R. Taylor and the Davis-Scott YMCA partnered together for the first Mayfest:Take Pride in the Eastside that was held May 1, at the Davis-Scott YMCA.

District 2 residents enjoyed an entire day full of music, prizes, food and carnival rides. There were numerous booths offering information from the Diabetes Association, the South Texas Blood and Tissue Center, KIPP Academy and the Girl and Boy Scouts of America. Admission was free of charge and the event was open for all to attend.

"I am so happy to have partnered with the YMCA for this great community event in District 2. Enhancing the quality of life for our residents is a priority and I am taking advantage of every opportunity to achieve that end. This positive, family-friendly celebration was a great step in the right direction for District 2," said Councilwoman Taylor.

Councilwoman Taylor and District 2 residents look forward to future community events including the upcoming District 2 Town Hall Meeting on June 12, at the Ella Austin Community center.
