Proposed agreement between Sheryl Sculley
and the City of San Antonio for City Manager position
The proposed agreement between Sheryl Sculley and the City of San Antonio
includes the following basic terms:
-
Sculley has been offered a base annual salary of $265,000.00 with the
same annual expense account ($6,000.00) extended to the last three city
managers. In addition, Sculley will be paid a $400.00 monthly car
allowance and a $70.00 monthly cell phone allowance. The City will also
pay for memberships to several city management associations and municipal
leagues, which the Manager is expected to join.
-
In order to move her household and family from Phoenix, Sculley will be
paid $20,000.00 in two payments within the next year and will be
reimbursed for various expenses related to this transition. These
relocation expenses include reimbursement for two house hunting trips for
the family (total $3,000.00) and up to eight months of temporary living
allowance for rent and storage (up to $1,500.00 per month). To visit and
help her family with the transition and move to San Antonio, the City will
provide a $10,000.00 allowance for Sculley to travel to Phoenix twice a
month, for the next 12 months.
-
Besides basic insurances and benefits to be paid by the City, the City
is working to match Sculley’s current retirement program offered in
Phoenix. Because state laws vary, this issue is still not final. The City
is committed to participate by placing 15% of the base salary in defined
contribution plans, the details for which need to be developed.
-
If terminated by the City, Sculley may receive a lump sum payment of
twelve months of base salary and continued health insurance coverage for
one year.
The Council and Sculley should have finalized contract language by
Thursday’s City Council meeting and will take action to approve a written
agreement at that time.
