Spring cleaning in full
gear
- Annual city-wide cleanup
day scheduled for next weekend -
Spring is in the air and so is spring cleaning. Residents are
invited to get a jump start on their spring cleaning by taking part in
the City-wide Cleanup Day on April 4.
This annual free event provides residents with the opportunity to get
rid of unwanted bulky items for free. From 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. City
crews and trucks will be stationed at various locations across the city
to collect items. For a complete list of locations, refer to the list
below.
To take part in this day, individuals must be a City of San Antonio
residential solid waste rate payer. Participants must bring a copy of
their most recent CPS Energy bill along with a picture ID as proof of
residency to obtain “free” disposal. Residents are asked to cover loads
with a tarp to avoid being charged a penalty under the City Ordinance
#72272 Tarp-Law.
Residents are also encouraged to separate their brush from their bulky
items and recycle. Clean brush can be recycled into high quality mulch
available at the Bitters Brush Collection Site, 1800 Bitters Rd.
