Community Workshop #3 for
Strategic Historic Preservation Plan
The City’s Office of Historic Preservation will hold a final
Community Workshop from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30,
at the Development Services Building, 1901 S. Alamo, Training Rooms A &
B, to review the Preliminary Strategic Historic Preservation Plan.
The workshop will include a review and evaluation of the preliminary
draft of the plan, evaluation of plan strategies and recommendations for
short and long term goals, and generation of additional planning ideas
and options for inclusion in the final draft of plan. The purpose of
this initiative is to create broad-based community consensus about
historic preservation issues so that the preservation office is equipped
to make sound decisions about the preservation of historic buildings,
sites, and districts.
The goal of the plan is to provide concrete strategies to enhance the
preservation program and capitalize on San Antonio’s historic resources
that have a proven positive impact on economic development, heritage
tourism, and quality of life.
The event is free and open to the public. Community input is critical.
