STWBC Announces Business Plan Contest Finalists

The City’s South Texas Women’s Business Center (STWBC) is proud to announce the finalists of the inaugural business plan competition.

Finalists include Clarissa Garza and Victoria Moreno-Herrera, owners of Baby Besos (babybesos.com), an online, bi-lingual baby store focused on Latino-inspired products; Shana Prichard, owner of Realign LLC (realignorganizing.com), an organizational consulting firm; and Julissa Carielo, owner of Tejas Premier Building Contractor (tejaspremierbc.com), a full-service building contractor agency. The winner will be announced on Friday, August 28, during the First Annual Women’s Business Symposium at Crossroads Mall – Norris Conference Center, 4522 Fredericksburg Road. They will receive a prize package valued at $5,000.

“We were impressed with the high caliber of entries that we received for our first business plan competition,” said Celina Peña, director of the STWBC. “These finalists set the standard high for their peers in the business world, and we are proud to recognize their efforts through this competition.”

The symposium is a great opportunity for small, women and minority-owned businesses to network. During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in roundtable discussions and visit with organizations at a business expo. The opening symposium speaker will be Susan Young, Communications & PR expert, speaker, author, and award-winning entrepreneur. The second speaker of the day will be Nina Vaca, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Pinnacle Technical Resources, Inc.

Space is still available for individuals interested in attending the Women’s Business Symposium. Tickets are $70 to attend the entire symposium or $50 to attend the luncheon and expo portion of the event. For more information or to register, visit www.stwbc.com.
