District hearings provide residents an opportunity to comment on 2010 Balanced Proposed City Budget

San Antonio residents are invited to provide their comments on the City’s Fiscal Year 2010 Proposed Budget by attending community hearings in each Council district. The hearings are set to begin Monday, August 17. The FY 2010 Balanced Proposed Budget was presented to City Council this morning.

Councilmembers and City staff will be available at the hearings to explain important aspects of the proposed budget and answer questions from participants. A short educational video will be presented at the hearing to help participants learn more about the budget proposal.

All district budget hearings will begin at 6:30 p.m. The community district budget hearings are scheduled as follows:

A public hearing on the FY 2010 Proposed Budget is scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber. City Council will adopt the Fiscal Year 2010 Operating Budget on Thursday, September 17. The City’s fiscal year begins on October 1.
