Public hearing to be held for Draft Small Business Ordinance

The City of San Antonio Small Business Advocacy Committee (SBAC) will host a Business Stakeholder's Meeting 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 12, at the Municipal Plaza Building, Plaza B Room, 114 W. Commerce, to discuss and receive comments regarding the Draft Small Business Ordinance.

The draft ordinance is based on the findings and recommendations of the 2009 City of San Antonio Regional Business Disparity Causation Analysis Study as well as input from business stakeholders and the public. During the months of August and September, the City reached out to more than 100 business leaders and 15 organizations including the Associated General Contractors (Horizontal and Vertical), Citizen Bond Oversight Committee, the Hispanic Contractor Association de San Antonio, and various Chambers of Commerce.

The public comment period for the Draft Small Business Ordinance ends Wednesday, October 14. In addition to the public hearing, individuals can also review the ordinance at the following address: www.sanantonio.gov/edd/small_business/Disparity_Study.asp.
