Community invited to attend Graffiti Workshop

It takes a community to fight graffiti that is the message that the City’s Housing and Neighborhood Services Department’s Graffiti Abatement Program would like to emphasize during the 2nd Annual Graffiti Workshop.

The event is scheduled to take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Friday, June 26 at the Carver Community Cultural Center, 226 N. Hackberry and Saturday, June 27 at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Theatre, 1301 Guadalupe.

The two-day workshop, which is free and open to public, will feature nationally renowned graffiti expert and author Victoria Wilson-Merritt and state representative Trey Martinez Fischer. Participants will be provided with in-depth information on the history of graffiti as well as receive information on recent legislation that has been introduced.

Citizens are encouraged to attend this educational and informative event. For more information on the workshop or to make a reservation, contact Lisa McKenzie at (210) 207-5430 or by email at lisa.mckenzie@sanantonio.gov. Deadline for registration is Monday, June 22. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided for those who pre-register.
