Summer Recycling Tips - Tip #2: Turn those caffeinated beans into a grease busting machine

If you are getting ready to fire up the barbecue grill, here is a helpful recycling tip from the City's Solid Waste Management Department that will help to shorten your cleaning time so you can spend more time with your friends and family instead of scrubbing down the grill. 

Tip #2: Turn those caffeinated beans into a grease busting machine. Instead of throwing away the coffee grounds from your morning brew use them this summer to scrub the gunk off your grill and greasy pans. The grounds can be used wet or dry.

Coffee grounds can also be used to fight off bugs that live and play around your outdoor plants and trees. Sprinkle a ring of coffee grounds around the edges of your leafy friends and the grounds can help fight away ants.
