Summer Recycling Tips
Tip #5: Paper or Plastic?
The right choice is cloth.
Don’t choose paper or plastic, choose cloth instead. There’s no time
like the present to make the switch to reusable cloth shopping bags.
Here is another helpful recycling tip from the City's Solid Waste
Management Department that will help you recycle this summer.
Tip #5: Look beyond the traditional choices of plastic or paper
shopping bags this summer make the switch to reusable cloth bags.
Did you know that it can take up to 1,000 years for a plastic bag to
break down in a landfill? Paper is a better choice, but even paper has
its problems. The recipe for making paper bags starts with one part pulp
and 400 parts water. And in San Antonio, residents can appreciate the
need for conserving water. So the real choice is reusable cloth.
Reusable shopping bags not only allow you to carry around your groceries
but they can also be used to carry everything from your lunch to your
gym clothes.
So make the switch and make your latest summer accessory cloth. For more
