Summer Recycling Tips
Tip #6: Make your kitchen waste work for you - compost those scraps instead of placing in trash

Kitchen trash can turn into mulch gold when you take the time to compost. Here is another helpful recycling tip from the City's Solid Waste Management Department that will help you recycle this summer.

Tip #6: Make your kitchen waste work for you - compost those scraps instead of placing them in the trash. Compost is an easy recycling method that you don’t have to leave your home to do. It allows you to turn household waste like tea bags, coffee grounds, fruit and vegetable peelings and even grass clippings into healthy nutritious mulch in no time. Composting will save you money when it is time to fertilize your lawns and gardens and also cut down on the amount of waste you contribute to our landfills. It’s easy and it does not take a lot of work.
