Plumbing and residential code changes are the focus of the next installment of the City's San Antonio Building Codes Academy (SABCA) seminars. The seminars are scheduled for October 12 though October 15 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, room 001, river level.

The SABCA seminars will prepare building and development professionals for the significant changes of the 2009 International Residential Code (IRC) and the International Plumbing Code (IPC), which the City will adopt January 1, 2010. The IPC Design, Installation and Inspection Principals course is scheduled for October 12 and October 14. The IRC Significant Changes course is scheduled for October 13 and 15. Each session runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants can receive six hours of continuing education credit.

The registration deadline is October 5. The registration fee is $160 per course, which includes a workbook and refreshments.

Produced by the City’s Planning and Development Services Department, the SABCA aims to bring high-quality training for building and development professionals in South Central Texas. Additional seminars are offered year-round.
