Three weeks left for high school seniors to apply for the 2010 MLK Scholarship

Less than a month is left for high school seniors who plan to pursue a college degree and are looking for financial assistance to apply for the 2010 Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is Friday, March 5.

The City's Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission is currently accepting applications from graduating seniors who attend a high school within Bexar County. Individuals interested in obtaining an application may do so by visiting the City's website at www.sanantonio.gov/mlk and selecting the link for scholarship information. Applications may be submitted online or by mail.

Each year, the MLK Commission awards $1000 scholarships to area students. Scholarship funds originate from a variety of charitable donors that include small businesses, large corporations, non-profits and individual citizens. Scholarship recipients will be recognized during a City Council meeting in May.
