Brush Over Graffiti in your neighborhood

The City's Graffiti Abatement Program is currently accepting applications for their Brush Over Graffiti (BOG) paint giveaway contest. The BOG program encourages San Antonio communities that are currently being plagued with chronically tagged wall surfaces to gather together and paint a mural. Community murals can often have a positive affect in deterring graffiti vandalism.

If your community is interested in applying to the BOG program, they must submit a BOG application along with an essay (maximum 500 words) explaining why your project should be selected. All applications are due by Friday, May 13. Applications can be obtained by visiting http://www.sanantonio.gov/ces/graffiti.aspx.

Four projects will be selected to receive $500 worth of paint. Once the mural is completed, the City’s Graffiti Abatement Program will apply a special coating to the mural to help protect the painting against vandalism. All murals will be required to be maintained for a two-year period by the community receiving the paint.

For more information on BOG, contact Lisa McKenzie at (210) 207-5430.
