City's Solid Waste Management Department to extend Bitters Brush Recycling Site weekend hours

The City's Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) will temporary extend the Friday and Saturday business hours for the Bitters Brush Recycling Center through the month of April.

The site located at 1800 Bitters Road will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays beginning today. Sunday through Thursday the site will maintain their regular business hours.

This is a great opportunity for residents trying to do spring yard and gardening work to pick up mulch or to recycle their brush, leaves and grass clippings before the summer temperatures arrive. Note that trash, construction debris, metal, stumps, roots or limbs larger than six inches in diameter are not accepted at this facility.

Residents are asked to bring a picture ID and current CPS Energy bill showing Environmental Fee as proof of residency when visiting the center. For more information on the Bitters Brush Recycling Center, visit www.sanantonio.gov/swmd.
