Release Date: February 4, 2011 City of San Antonio Communications Office: 207-7234 City services schedules due to inclement weather Due to inclement weather a number of City services are closed or will have a noon start time today. Please refer to the information below about the various City services. The City's Solid Waste Management Department will
not have garbage and recycling collection today, February 4 due to inclement
weather. Services will be resumed tomorrow. Residents who normally receive
collection today will receive collection tomorrow, Saturday, February 5 and
residents who are normally scheduled for Saturday will still receive their
normal collection. All San Antonio Public Libraries will open at noon today, as well as, La Villita, Market Square and the Spanish Governor's Palace. City of San Antonio Senior Centers, Learning Centers and the Frank Garrett and Claude Black Centers will open at noon today. All Senior Centers will provide warm meals for seniors. Seniors who decide to go to any of the Senior Centers are asked to call the Department of Community Initiatives’ Senior Services Division at 207-7172 to let the center managers know of their attendance. Animal Care Services' shelter will open at noon today and the department has staff to answer emergency calls only. Please note that road closures will dictate ACS response time to emergency calls. WIC clinics which are normally open only until 12:45 p.m. on Fridays will not provide services today. The San Antonio International Airport is open and fully operational. However, due to the weather around the country, many flights have been cancelled or delayed today. Airport officials are encouraging passengers and guests to check their flight status, prior to arriving at the airport, with their airline, travel agent or the airport's website www.sanantonio-airport.com. The Municipal Archives and Records Facility will also be closed until noon today. Municipal Court is open today. |
