Resource fair connects residents with financial assistance

The City’s Center for Working Families (CWF) is hosting a Resource Fair from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Willie C. Velasquez Learning Center at 1302 N. Zarzamora Street. Residents can get information on a variety of City programs including child care, utility assistance, job counseling, job placement and free income tax preparation services.

The City’s Department of Community Initiatives (DCI) launched the CWF last month to help develop financial wealth and self sufficiency for local families. With approximately 25 percent of San Antonio working families classified as low income and struggling financially, the new program will connect residents with the resources needed to reduce debt and generate wealth.
