City reminds
citizens to remember the yard parking rules during Fiesta celebrations
Viva Fiesta! As the city gets ready for their annual 10-day
celebration of food, parades and various festivities, the City’s Housing
and Neighborhood Services Code Compliance Division and the Police
Department want to send a friendly reminder about the parking rules during
this time of celebration.
Citizens need to remember that it is illegal to park vehicles on front and
side lawn or to sell your yard space for parking at anytime. Violation of
the City’s front/side ordinance may result in a parking citation and/or a
significant fine to the property owner. This rule will be strictly
enforced during the Alamodome Fiesta Carnival, Fiesta Oyster Bake, Night
in Old San Antonio and the King William Fair as well as several other
Fiesta events.
In addition to front/side yard parking, partygoers who park in vacant lots
or other non-permitted parking areas may be subject to having their
vehicle towed at their expense.
Code and Police Officers are encouraging Fiesta participants to adhere to
all City codes to ensure a safe environment for all citizens who are
attending Fiesta events. Citizens are asked to call 3-1-1 to report
possible parking violations.
