City set to host graffiti workshop

The City’s Housing and Neighborhood Services Department will host a graffiti workshop from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28 at the Carver Community Cultural Center, 226 N. Hackberry.

The workshop, which is free and open to public, features nationally renowned graffiti expert and author Victoria Wilson-Merritt. Participants will be provided with in-depth information on graffiti, its history and the research that has been conducted on the subject. They will also have the opportunity to hear from City officials about the efforts the City is making to clean up graffiti in San Antonio communities.

Graffiti tagging is a crime that continues to grow within the United States. Each year, the U.S. spends more than $8 billion cleaning up graffiti.

For more information on the workshop or to make a reservation, contact Lisa McKenzie at (210) 207-5430 or by email at lisa.mckenzie@sanantonio.gov.
