Free seminar to focus on IRS taxes and your small business

On Friday, May 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Frost Bank Tower, 100 W. Houston St., Suite 1900, the City’s Economic Development Department’s (EDD) Small Business Division will be hosting a seminar for prospective and existing business owners wanting to learn about federal business tax requirements.

Participants will learn requirements first hand from a retied IRS agent and business counselor. Topics to be discussed include business tax returns, keeping records, filing requirements as an employer, employment taxes, methods of filing, tax withholding, types of business organizations and other important federal business tax information.

Information on a variety of business assistance programs offered by the City’s EDD Small Business Outreach Division and South Texas Women’s Business Center will also be presented.
