Man’s best friends invited to Dog Tails on Voelcker Trails

Bring your best friends and family to join the City’s Parks and Recreation Department for an organized dog walk and open house to be held Saturday, April 5 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the future Voelcker Park, 12000 N.W. Military Highway.

Registration for the Dog Tails on Voelcker Trails dog walk begins at 8:30 a.m. The first 100 registrants receive a free event t-shirt. The organized walk begins at 9 a.m. and an open house will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Please remember to have all dogs on leashes. Animal Care Services will offer pets for adoption and free micro-chipping. Participants may park at the Campus of the San Antonio Jewish Community, 12500 N.W. Military Highway.

“The Parks and Recreation Department is all about fitness, family and fun and we know that San Antonians absolutely love their pets. We’re hosting Dog Tails on Voelcker Trails to offer citizens an opportunity to visit Voelcker Park and have an active and fun-filled day with their family and their best friend,” said Special Projects Manager Krystal Strong. “Dog and nature lovers won’t want to miss it.”
