Early bird registration deadline extended
-Annual summit focuses on best practices for community development-

The deadline for early bird registration for the 2009 Community Development Summit has been extended to September 10. Those interested can register online at www.sanantonio.gov/summit.

Hosted by the City of San Antonio and the Urban Land Institute, the summit is scheduled for September 16 and 17 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and brings development experts from across the country to discuss everything from mix-use sustainable communities to street design. This year's theme, Creating Great Places: From House to Market, will focus on community development from the perspective of where people live to where they shop.

In addition to more than 30 workshops and panel discussions, training on such topics as new market tax credits, community organizing and financial management for non-profits will also be offered. In addition, an evening networking event and Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization Award Ceremony will round out the conference.

An early-bird one-day rate is available for as little as $75 and includes all the day’s activities and meals. The early bird rate for the entire summit is $150 for the private sector, $125 for the public sector and $110 for non-profit organization. For more information, visit www.sanantonio.gov/summit or e-mail cdsummit@sanantonio.gov.
