Export Leaders deadline extended

The deadline to register for the City’s 2009 Export Leaders program has been extended to April 24. Offered by the International Affairs Department, the program is designed to help local companies expand their business into the global marketplace. To date, 79 graduates have successfully generated more than $77 million after completing the program.

The program includes four training seminars by industry experts and two required trade missions to Guadalajara and Mexico City where participants have an opportunity to be matched with viable business partners. Training and trade expertise is provided by consultants from the University of Texas at San Antonio’s International Trade Center and the U.S. Department of Commerce Foreign Commercial Service. Included in the sessions are topics ranging from international marketing strategies to foreign export financing and legal issues.

The International Affairs Department serves as the focal point for attracting and promoting foreign trade, investment and international relations around the world for the San Antonio community.

The cost of the program is $1,000 plus travel expenses. For more information, contact Iñigo Arzac, Global Trade and Foreign investment manager, at 207-8100 or visit http://www.sanantoniotrade.org/export-leaders-program.html
