Head Start currently registering students

The San Antonio and Bexar County Head Start Program is currently registering new and returning students at several locations across the city and county.

Parents may contact Head Start’s new providers to inquire about assigned registration locations, dates, times and other related information:

All parents are asked to bring the following documents when registering their children:
- Proof of income
- Proof of parent’s/guardian’s enrollment in school or training to qualify for extended-day Head Start services
- Child’s original birth certificate
- Child’s up-to-date immunization record
- Proof of current health insurance
- Proof of guardianship (if applicable)
- Proof of residence
- Proof of Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) (if applicable)
- Divorce decree / custody documents (if applicable)
- Proof of child support (if applicable)

A parent-community meeting is scheduled on Saturday, June 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Claude Black Community Center, located at 2805 E. Commerce St. City representatives and Head Start providers will be on-hand to answer questions concerning registration, center locations and other inquiries regarding the Head Start program transition.
