Public Meeting set to
discuss Roosevelt Corridor Reinvestment Plan
-Final draft to be presented for review and
comment-
Councilwoman Jennifer V. Ramos and the City’s Planning and Development
Services Department are hosting a public meeting to discuss the proposed
Roosevelt Corridor Reinvestment Plan, including the Roosevelt Avenue
Metropolitan Corridor Overlay District design standards and
recommendations for zoning changes. The meeting will be held at 6:00
p.m. on Tuesday, July 28 at the Harlandale Community Center, located
at 7227 Briar Place.
The Roosevelt Corridor Reinvestment Plan area includes both sides of
Roosevelt Avenue from Lone Star Blvd. to the north, to Loop 410 to the
south. Community stakeholders will have an opportunity to review and
comment on strategies that have been identified for encouraging
reinvestment along the Roosevelt Corridor. These strategies include
infrastructure projects, community-based initiatives, design standards
for new construction, and zoning changes.
After incorporating comments from the community, the final version of
the Reinvestment Plan will be presented at the annual Community
Development Summit, scheduled for September 16 and 17 at the Henry B.
Gonzalez Convention Center. The overlay district design standards and
zoning change recommendations will be forwarded to Zoning Commission for
consideration and to City Council for approval.
