Online registration open for 2009 Community Development Summit
-Early bird registration deadline quickly approaching -

The deadline for early bird registration for the 2009 Community Development Summit is quickly approaching. Those interested can now register online at www.sanantonio.gov/summit. Early bird registration ends August 31.

The summit is scheduled for September 16 and 17 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center and will bring development experts from across the country to discuss everything from mix-use sustainable communities to street design. This year’s theme, Creating Great Places: From House to Market, will focus on community development from the perspective of where people live to where they shop.

In addition to workshops and panel discussions, training on such topics as new market tax credits, community organizing and financial management for non-profits will also be offered. In addition, an evening networking event and Neighborhood
Commercial Revitalization Award Ceremony will round out the conference.
