2012 MLK Scholarship application now available


The 2012 Martin Luther King, Jr., Scholarship application is now available. Graduating high school seniors planning to pursue a college degree and who are seeking financial assistance are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be attending a high school in Bexar County. To apply and for more information, please visit the City's website at www.sanantonio.gov/mlk/. Completed applications must be submitted by Friday, March 9, 2012 by 4 p.m. local time.

Each year, the MLK Commission awards $1,000 scholarships to area students with funds originated by a variety of charitable donors including small businesses, large corporations, non-profit organizations and individuals. Students selected to receive MLK Scholarships will be recognized during a City Council meeting in May 2012.

The City's upcoming 2012 MLK March celebrates its 25th anniversary with the theme, "Journey Beyond the March...Live Beyond the Dream..." The 25th anniversary march takes place on Monday, Jan. 16, 2012.
