The City of San Antonio, in partnership with the Alamo Area Council of Governments Clean Cities Coalition, CPS Energy and the San Antonio Auto Dealers Association, present the second annual Electrification of Transportation Conference at San Antonio's Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center Oct. 26-27, 2011. The conference seeks to advance transportation choices and economic development within the region.

"The Electrification of Transportation Conference will provide valuable information on the direction many cities are headed in to create more environmentally-friendly ways of living," said Laurence Doxsey, Director of the City's Office of Environmental Policy. "We encourage all San Antonians to attend the conference and learn about the latest transportation choices."

The conference provides local government officials, fleet managers, business decision makers, utility planners, media professionals, and interested citizens a forum for learning about and discussing the benefits and opportunities associated with electrified transportation. This year's guest speakers include Dr. Anthony Perl, author of "Transport Revolutions: Moving People and Freight without Oil;" Mike Tinskey, head of Ford Motor Company's electric vehicle program; among others.

In addition, entrepreneurs currently doing business related to electric transportation will share their experiences with the industry in Texas. The conference will also run in tandem with the San Antonio Auto Show where the latest electric and hybrid vehicles on the market will be showcased.
