City seeks new TIRZ board applicants

The City of San Antonio is seeking applicants for Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZ) Verano #28 and Brooks City-Base TIRZ #16. Each of these zones was designated to support development in the southern section of the city.

TIRZ board members serve a vital role in developing these areas into viable and economically diverse sectors of the city. Board members serve in an oversight capacity and make decisions about how TIRZ money is spent. Members are also responsible for helping to create or amend the guiding documents of the TIRZ, and approve contractual agreements and reimbursement requests from developers and other participating taxing entities.

To be eligible for appointment to the board, an individual must be at least 18 years of age and own real property in the zone or be an employee or agent of a person that owns real property in the zone.

Interested applicants may obtain more information about each of the zones at www.sanantonio.gov/ccdo/tif. Applications can be obtained by visiting https://webapps2.sanantonio.gov/BoardComm/Vacancies.aspx. The positions will be open until filled.

For additional information, call the City of San Antonio Tax Increment Financing Unit at (210) 207-5417.
