City's election history preserved via digitization

City Clerk Leticia M. Vacek is unveiling the City of San Antonio Election Results from as far back as 1856 to the Present within the Municipal Archives and Records Digital Collection. The collection contains over 4,500 images of election results, ordinances, resolutions, and precinct maps and is available to anyone with internet access. The project was completed within six months.

An inventory of election data known as a "Finding Aid" has been created to assist researchers on present content as well as future content that will continue to be added to the digital collection. According to Vacek, the digital election information undoubtedly will serve as a valuable resource to election researchers and directly correlates with Mayor Julián Castro's SA 2020 Initiative.
