Release Date: September 7, 2011 City of San Antonio Communications Office: 207-7234 New positions available for Head Start Policy Council The San Antonio and Bexar County Head Start Policy Council is seeking applicants to fill eight community representative positions. Individuals interested in the education and development of children and families served by the Head Start program and who can contribute their time and expertise to the program may apply in any of the following fields: - Early Childhood Education (ECE) - Experience in the early childhood education profession in some capacity, such as direct services, including past Head Start experience - Business Representative - Experience in a business capacity with an emphasis in financial management - Medical Representative - Experience in the medical field, preferably working with underserved children and families - Social Service Representative - Experience in the management and/or delivery of social services to underserved children and families - Legal Representative - Experience as a licensed attorney and familiar with issues that come before the Policy Council - Higher Education Representative - Individuals with professional experience in higher education specifically in early childhood education - Community At Large - Individuals with other professional expertise or experience that will benefit the program - Former Head Start Parent - Parents of formerly enrolled Head Start children.
