The consultant team and OHP, with extensive public input, will produce detailed guidelines that will direct the appropriate long-term development of San Antonio's historic resources. The Historic District Design Guidelines Public Meeting will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011 at 6 p.m. at the Development Services Building, located at 1901 S. Alamo. Public input is needed to help shape design guidelines that will protect the historic places in our city. Alterations to properties in Historic Districts and historic landmarks require design review and receive approval based on the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation. The design guidelines are intended to give more specific direction on a variety of design related issues such as appropriate additions to historic properties, signage in historic districts, and much more. This will be the first of several public meetings resulting in design guidelines adopted by City Council. For more information, call 207-7925 or visit www.sanantonio.gov/historic. |
