Winter holiday schedule of City services
Saturday, December 24, 2011 through Sunday, January 1, 2012

City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed Saturday, December 24, 2011 through Sunday, January 1, 2012. Public safety and emergency services will remain in operation. A complete list of closures and modified schedule of City services is available on the City's website http://www.sanantonio.gov/.

City services will operate as follows:

MODIFIED SCHEDULE OF CITY SERVICES -

Animal Care Services:
  • OPEN - Lobby, adoptions and reclaim will be open:
       - Tuesday. Dec. 27 - Thursday. Dec. 29
       - Saturday. Dec. 31 - Sunday. Jan. 1
  • CLOSED - Lobby, adoptions and reclaim will be closed:
       - Sunday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Dec. 26
       - Friday, Dec. 30
  • Field Service will continue as usual throughout the holidays.

    Bitters Brush Recycling Center:
  • CLOSED - Saturday, Dec. 24 - Monday, Dec. 26
  • CLOSED - Saturday, Dec. 31 - Sunday, Jan. 1

    Cafe College:
  • CLOSED - Saturday, Dec. 24 and Saturday, Dec. 31

    Code Enforcement Services:
  • Emergency code issues can be reported to 3-1-1

    Community Learning Centers:
  • CLOSED - Saturday, Dec. 24 and Saturday, Dec. 31
     
    Convention, Sports and Entertainment Facilities Department:
  • Facility and Security Staff to staff Alamo bowl - Monday through Friday

    Customer Service/3-1-1:
  • Will take calls 7 a.m. - 11 p.m.

    CVB:
  • Sales offices will have limited staff available to answer any stakeholder or client requests Tuesday, Dec. 27- Thursday, Dec. 29 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.).
  • Visitor Information Center open regular hours - Monday through Friday (closed Sunday, Dec. 25, Sunday, Jan. 1)

    Development Services Department:
  • "After hour" inspections offered on December 28 and 29, at a fee of $100/hour. The deadline to request an "after hour" inspection is Thursday, December 22.

    Downtown Operations:
  • La Villita and Market Square offices will remain open Monday through Friday. The Spanish Governor's Palace will be open normal hours from Tuesday through Friday. Other Downtown Operations staff will be scheduled as needed to service the Riverwalk, parking facilities and other downtown areas, and support the New Year's Eve event.

    Garbage and Recycling Collection:
  • Monday, Dec. 26 -
       - NO COLLECTION. Monday area will be collected on Tuesday, Dec. 27
  • Tuesday, Dec. 27 -
       - Tuesday areas will be collected on Wednesday, Dec. 28
  • Wednesday, Dec. 28 -
       - COLLECTION of Tuesday areas and regular Wednesday areas.
  • Thursday, Dec. 29 - Regular collection schedule
  • Friday, Dec. 30 - Regular collection schedule

    Head Start and After School Challenge sites - CLOSED

    Household Hazardous Waste drop-off center:
  • CLOSED - Friday, Dec. 23 - Thursday, Jan. 5
  • REOPENS - Friday, Jan. 6 regular days/times

    Libraries:
  • CLOSED - Saturday, Dec. 24 - Monday, Dec. 26
  • CLOSED - Friday, Dec. 30 - Sunday, Jan. 1

    Municipal Court:
  • Citizens may pay citations utilizing the 24-hour drop box located in the front of the Frank Wing Building, 401 S. Frio St. or in person with a city court clerk at the Magistrate and Detention Center, open 24 hours a day.
    CITIZENS WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SPEAK TO A JUDGE OR CONTEST CITATIONS.

    Office of the City Attorney:
  • Litigation Division available to cover court proceedings - Tuesday through Friday during federal and state court hours.

    On-street parking meters:
  • Parking Meter Holiday - Monday, Dec. 26 - Saturday, Dec. 31

    Open Records Requests:
  • All requests submitted to the City after 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, 2011 through Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012 will be marked as received on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012.

    Parking garages and parking lots (All City-operated) - OPEN

  • Parks and Recreation Centers -
       - CLOSED - Monday, Dec. 26
       - OPEN - Tuesday, Dec. 27 - Thursday, Dec. 29
