NCR offers workshop
on Small Business Security
-Small business owners invited to
attend free workshop-
The Neighborhood Commercial Revitalization Program (NCR), a division of
the City's Department of Planning and Community Development, will offer
a free workshop entitled "Security Measures: Protecting your Small
Business" from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 21
at the St. Mary's University AT&T Center for Information Technology,
located at One Camino Santa Maria on the St. Mary's University campus.
Workshop topics include identity theft, cyber security, crime prevention
and protection, as well as loss prevention. The class will be taught by
Harold Kidd of Central Identity Theft Risk Management.
This workshop is offered as part of the NCR Business Basics (B2) Course
Series. The courses are designed to help entrepreneurs in recognized
distressed areas learn new skills, grow sales, and form critical
networks. Business owners may attend the entire series, or attend
individual workshops to brush-up on specific skills.
Courses are conveniently held every third Thursday of the month. The
classes are free for guests from the NCR/ TIRZ/ Empowerment Zone
corridors. A $5 donation is suggested for guests from outside of these
areas.
