Release Date: July 29, 2011 City of San Antonio Communications Office: 207-7234 Office of the City Clerk hosts Passport Day on Sept. 17 -Event provides individuals with extended Saturday hours to apply for passports- The City of San Antonio's Office of the City Clerk will be one of thousands of passport acceptance facilities across the country participating in "Passport Day in the USA 2011" on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011. During Passport Day, anyone can apply for their passport at the Municipal Archives and Records Facility, 719 S. Santa Rosa, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The department will accept applications and take passport photos. The Municipal Archives and Records Facility provides free parking. Passports will be processed by appointment. Individuals interested in applying for a passport should make an appointment for Passport Day on Sept. 17 by calling (210) 207-4214. The Office of the City Clerk hosted its own Passport Day in April 2011 - an outreach event where more than 70 applications were accepted at the Municipal Archives and Records Facility. Individuals who are unable to attend Passport Day can apply for their passports during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Municipal Archives and Records Facility.
