Release Date: September 16, 2011 City of San Antonio Communications Office: 207-7234 Classic Car and Vintage Fashion Show on tap at Market Square's Primer Sabado Go back to a time of classic cars and vintage fashions at the next Primer Sabado at Market Square. Hosted by the City's Downtown Operations Department, Primer Sabado's Classic Car and Vintage Fashion Show is free and is scheduled from noon to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at Market Square, located at 514 W. Commerce. More than 100 classic cars and vintage bikes will be featured along San Saba Street and Santa Rosa Avenue surrounding Market Square. The vintage fashion show starts at 7 p.m. and will showcase the trends of the 40s, 50s and 60s from designers at the University of the Incarnate Word's Fashion Design Department, the International Academy of Design and Technology, Thomas Jefferson High School's Fashion Department, Lacy Topaz Vintage Archive and Penner's. Other participants include the Lari Nelson Fashion Group and Producer and Model Mangement and Trainer. Special guest Miss San Antonio Michelle Spencer will emcee the fashion show. To round out the oldies experience, three outdoor entertainment areas will offer a DJ spinning the cruisin' classics and live oldies music. Attendees can order up a variety of foods from the traditional fajita taco to the classic American hamburger. Arts and crafts vendors will be on site. Children's activities include two arts and crafts workshops located inside El Mercado, "Create Your Own Hot Rod" and "Runway Fashionista."
