Vote for S.T.A.R. and help neighborhood revitalization
-Office of Historic Preservation in the running for $25,000 grant-

You still have time to cast your vote for the City's Office of Historic Preservation's (OHP) S.T.A.R (Students Together Achieving Revitalization) project. OHP is competing to win a $25,000 grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project to help fund the project. Voting ends July 31, 2011.

Vote at www.refresheverything.com/star or text 107432 to Pepsi (73774). Votes can be cast both ways each day.

Since last week, the S.T.A.R. project has moved up over 40 spots to number 106 but needs to be in the top 15 in order to be a winner in the competition and secure the funding.

S.T.A.R is a two-weekend project that achieves neighborhood revitalization through service learning. The S.T.A.R. project has assisted owners of 26 houses for less than $16,000. Should they win the grant, OHP will be able to have an even greater impact in preserving historic homes in San Antonio.

For more information about the S.T.A.R. project and ways to get involved, visit www.sanantonio.gov/historic or contact Trisha Logan at (210) 207-7244.
