Community invited to discuss revitalization strategies for Walzem Road area

Business owners, residents, property owners, and others interested in the future development of the Walzem area are invited to a community meeting from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 9 at the Roosevelt High School Cafeteria, 5110 Walzem Rd. It will focus on implementation of the Business District Revitalization Plan. Attendees will have an opportunity to review and comment on the business district action items, identify community partners and explore personal commitments that will have a positive impact on the business district and greater community.

This meeting is hosted by Walzem Road Area Revitalization (WRAR) with assistance from the City's Planning and Community Development Department. WRAR is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to improving conditions in the commercial and residential areas surrounding Walzem Road. It recently launched a new business district that will focus on business development, organization, marketing, and physical improvements for the commercial areas along Walzem Road from Austin Highway to Eaglecrest Boulevard.

This is the final meeting in a series of meetings that will help set priorities and establish a five-year strategic plan for the new business district. For more information, call Michael Taylor at 207-0145.
