Video helps residents learn more about the City’s FY 2010 Balanced Proposed Budget

- Second round of community budget hearings set for next week -

Anyone interested in learning more about the budget proposed for the City’s 2010 fiscal year is encouraged to tune into TVSA, the City’s government access channel, to view a comprehensive video that provides an overview of the balanced proposed budget, the City’s revenue sources, and how residents can participate in the process.

The video will air Mondays at 9:30 a.m.; 1:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.; Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m.; 6:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.; Wednesdays at 8:00 a.m.; 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. and on Fridays at 11:00 a.m., 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The video will also air on Saturdays and Sundays following the replay of the City Council Meeting. The budget video can also be seen on Grande Cable channel 20 and AT&T U-verse channel 99 as well as on the City’s website at www.sanantonio.gov.

The Fiscal Year 2010 Balanced Proposed Budget was presented to City Council on August 13. Community hearings are being held in all 10 City Council districts to gather input from residents. The remaining community meetings are scheduled for the following dates:

City Council will adopt the FY 2010 Budget on Thursday, September 17. The City begins its next fiscal year on October 1.

The FY 2010 Balanced Proposed City Budget is a 14-minute video produced by the City’s Communications and Public Affairs Department in conjunction with the Office of Management and Budget.
