Fiesta 2008 events to close certain streets

Thousands of revelers will converge on downtown San Antonio soon for Fiesta 2008 events. Motorists will be diverted as the City closes several downtown and other streets to accommodate each event. Listed below are street closures and associated closure times for each of these events:

FIESTA FANTASIAS AT MARKET SQUARE:

• San Saba between Dolorosa to W. Commerce
  Street and sidewalk closure from April 16, 11:00 p.m. to April 28, 6:00 p.m.

SOUTHWEST SCHOOL OF ART AND CRAFT FIESTA ARTS FAIR:

• Augusta between Giraud and Convent open to one-way traffic southbound
  Closed April 18, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; April 20, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
   
• Augusta between Navarro and Giraud closed to all traffic
  Closed April 19, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; April 20, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

NIGHT IN OLD SAN ANTONIO:

• South Presa from Market to Nueva closed to all traffic
  Closed April 19, 8:30 a.m. to April 27, noon.
   
• Alamo St. between Villita and Nueva southbound lane closed
  Closed April 19, 8:30 a.m. to April 27, noon.
   
• Nueva between S. Alamo and S. Presa westbound lanes closed
  Closed April 19, 8:30 a.m. to April 27, noon.
   
• S. Presa St. between Nueva and Arcienga open to one-way traffic southbound
  Open daily April 22 to April 25 from 4:00 p.m. to midnight.
   
• Nueva St. between S. Alamo and S. Presa eastbound lanes
  Closed daily April 22 to April 25 from 8:00 p.m. to midnight.

ST. MARY’S OYSTER BAKE:

• Marquette between 36th Street to Camino Santa Maria
• Overhill from 36th Street to Camino Santa Maria
• Camino Santa Maria between Colgate to Wake Forest
• Overhill from Hillcrest to 36th Street
• Marquette from Hillcrest to 36th Street
• Riverdale from Hillcrest to 36th Street
• Bangor from Hillcrest to 36th Street
• Globe from Hillcrest to 36th Street
• Continental from Hillcrest to 36th Street
• Lark from Hillcrest to 36th Street
• Brandywine from Hillcrest to 36th Street
• Belfair from Woodlawn to Overhill
• Overhill from Camino Santa Maria to Duke
• Marquette from Camino Santa Maria to Duke
• Wake Forest from Camino Santa Maria to Stonegate

FIESTA MISSION RUN:

• Padre Drive from East White to Pyron

Hike and bike trail from Padre Drive and Pyron to Mission Espada
Street and trail closed April 19 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.


PILGRIMAGE TO THE ALAMO:

Auditorium Circle and Alamo Plaza from E. Houston to Crockett
Street closed April 21 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.


PARADES: BATTLE OF FLOWERS AND FIESTA FLAMBEAU:

• Broadway from Newell to Roy Smith (2 lanes closed on southbound westside)
  Street closed April 23, 9:00 a.m. to April 26, midnight
   
• Crockett between Alamo and Losoya
  Street closures April 24, 6:00 a.m. to April 27, 6:00 p.m. (daily)
   
• Broadway from Newell to Jones Avenue (closed for bleacher removal)
  Street closed April 26, 11:00 p.m. to April 27, 2:00 a.m.
  
  * Both parades will follow this route: Assemble at E. Grayson to Broadway. Head south on Broadway, east on 3rd Street, south on Alamo, west on Commerce, north on Santa Rosa. Disband on Martin.

• King William from E. Guenther to S. St. Mary’s
• Madison from E. Guenther to St. Mary’s

ST. LUKE’S FIESTA FINALE:

• Manitou from Callaghan to Winlock
  Street closed April 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Fiesta Funday Sunday Parade

• DeZavala Road from west school driveway at traffic light to Brandeis; 2 lanes closed
  Street closed April 20 from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

10TH STREET RIVER FEST:

• 10th Street from VFW Post 76 gate entrance to Avenue B
  Street closed April 25 to April 26 noon to midnight (daily)
