This week’s Movies by Moonlight takes viewers into the jungle of Madagascar

It’s the call of the wild at the next Movies by Moonlight showing of the animated film Madagascar set for tomorrow, Thursday, June 11, at HemisFair Park. Showtime starts at 7:30 p.m. with pre-entertainment by the Woodlawn Theatre performing some scenes from High School Musical. The feature film will begin at 8:30 p.m.

“We kicked off our summer movie series last week and had an overwhelming attendance of more than 500 people,” said Paula X. Stallcup, director of Downtown Operations. “Movies by Moonlight is a great way for families to spend a Thursday evening outdoors downtown and under the stars.”

The movie will be shown in the grassy area under the HemisFair Park arch and the Magik Theater building at S. Alamo and Nueva. Concessions will be available selling favorite movie treats such as popcorn, soda and cotton candy.

Free parking is available at the Alamo Street Lot near the HemisFair Park and across from the Federal Courthouse at the Durango Street lots after 6:00 p.m. on a first-come basis.

Movies by Moonlight is presented by the City’s Downtown Operations Department and presented in part by Time Warner Cable. For more information, call 207-3677 or visit http://www.sanantonio.gov/dtops/.
