San Antonio celebrates
Texas Recycles Day
Saturday, November 14, is Texas Recycles Day.
Residents, especially those who live in apartment complexes, looking for
an easy way to dispose of gently used appliances, furniture, mattresses,
clothing and electronic materials as well as all items that are accepted
in the City's recycling program are encouraged to load up their items
and bring them to Woodlawn Park, 1103 Cincinnati, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00
p.m.
The event, which is free, hopes to raise public awareness of the
economic and environmental benefits of recycling. During the day-long
festivities, visitors will have the opportunity to pick-up a variety of
educational materials on recycling including information on grasscycling,
water recycling and the benefits of not using plastic bags. On-site
shredding will also be available at the event.
Composting classes will also be offered throughout the day. Individuals
who attend a composting class will receive a free composting bin.
Concessions will be available along with great entertainment.
