Recycle San Antonio
City celebrates Texas Recycles Day November 14

Let's recycle San Antonio! On Saturday, November 14, the City's Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD) will celebrate Texas Recycles Day from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Lake Park, 1103 Cincinnati.

Visitors will be able to receive information regarding the economic and environmental benefits of recycling. They will also be the first to experience the new recycling bins that will be located throughout Woodlawn Lake Park as part of the new recycling pilot program established by the City's Parks and Recreation Department in conjunction with SWMD.

Individuals are invited to dispose of gently used appliances, furniture, mattresses and clothing that they may have lying around their houses at the event as well as all items that are accepted in the City's recycling program. On-site shredding will also be available.

Composting classes will also be offered throughout the day. Individuals who attend a composting class will receive a free composting bin. Concessions will be available along with great entertainment.

Texas Recycles Day is free and for the entire family. For more information on Texas Recycles Day, visit www.sanantonio.gov/swmd.
