City to implement pilot recycling program for multi-family housing properties

The City’s Solid Waste Management Department will be conducting a pilot recycling program for multi-family housing properties.

The program, which will begin this summer, will operate for six months. During that six-month period, the City will fund all of the operation costs. However, the property participants may be required to fund certain start up costs.

Participants will be allowed to recycle all items that are currently being accepted in the residential recycling program. The number of properties chosen will be limited and based upon certain requirements. At the end of the pilot, property owners may discontinue the program or continue at their own expense.
