Residents also are encouraged to submit ideas to the Community Bond Committee’s Project Suggestion Box located on the website. The box was established to collect community input on potential bond projects for review by the four committees. The proposed five-year, $550 million bond program does not include a property tax rate increase. City Council has allocated $300 million to streets and sidewalk improvements, $150 million to drainage improvements, $50 million for park improvements, and $50 million for community initiative neighborhood improvements. Each of the committees will conduct at least three public meetings. The four committees include: Streets and Sidewalks; Drainage; Parks; and Community Initiatives. Each committee is made up of 32 members -- two co-chairs appointed by Mayor Phil Hardberger and 30 committee members, three representing each Council district and appointed by their respective Councilpersons. |
