Citizens invited to provide input on proposed budget

City Ma
nager Sheryl Sculley will present the FY 2009 Proposed Budget to City Council on Thursday, August 14. San Antonio residents are invited to offer their input on the City’s proposed budget by attending community hearings in each Council district. The hearings are set to begin on Tuesday, August 19.

Council members and City staff will be available at each hearing to explain important aspects of the proposed budget and answer questions from participants. A short educational video and brochure will be presented to help participants learn more about the budget proposal and the City’s budget process.

All budget hearings will begin at 6:30 p.m. The community budget hearings are scheduled as follows:

A City Council public hearing regarding the FY 2009 Proposed Budget also is scheduled for Wednesday, September 3 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber. Two more public hearings to discuss the proposed property tax rate are scheduled for August 26 and September 4 at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber.
